Carrots

A mini bag of carrots is needed. Count up your carrots. Talk about various shades of orange. Read about how to plant them. Use the letters carrots to make a couple of words. Use them for one's times tables.  Dip them in paint as a tool for art.

Bunny

So it is bunny time.  A great book for your little one. You can have them to draw picture of the book. Have them to count items out of the book. Use words from the book to make a small sentence. Use concepts to add and subtract. Read an online encyclopedia article on the bunny for science as well as a trip to the pet shop. Multiplication is used from the pages.  Color match with crayons with the colors from the book...

Train

So my kid is always into train. Toy trains are great for story time. A historical field trip. Counting. Letter recognition. An interesting written story using the sight word list. A cooking lesson as you imagine what the passages would eat.

Seeds

Spring is here. A plant of seeds,soul,and pot are your teaching tools. Color and label a plant. Read a story about gardening. Point out the letters. Count the seeds.

Super Why

Super Why is a cute show about reading. Letter recognition. Count objects. Add and subtract pieces things from the episode. Name parts of the body and function for Science. Use the basic word list to label. The next day question,what happened the next day expands story telling and imagination.

So Art day. Take cookie cutters with green play dough for shapes. Count out fake or real money,glue to green paper. Take green paint and make other colors. Find green alphabets in a magazine to cut it out. Plant seeds in a small container. Read a story about St. Patrick's Day. Use potatoe to print art..

So green. Count the letters of the word. Trace the letters of the word. Use shades of green for art. Count money in 2's for times tables. Learn about the frog. Use green shapes for an another quick lesson. Sing with a Kermit the frog video.

With facts cards that can be simple index cards,explore nature with your little one. Texture of the bug if you can find is an idea for this teaching.

Cartoon

A cartoon can be a great teaching tool. What color is she? Spell his name with wooden alphabets. Count this item on the screen.  Draw out this shape you see. Extend the story with imagination by allowing your little one to continue the story line by what happens next.

Weather

This is a great time to go through the seasons of weather with your little one. I would use NASA to supplement my information. A walk through nature is a great thing for three days.

Food Color

A piece with food color...take a little brush to brush on the paper. Have your little one to tell little story about their drawing.

Seasons

Spring up. It is near and here. So it is a great time to use mother nature to teach your little one. It is collecting branches and drawing them with a little science fact. It is counting rocks and line them up for multiplication. Collect rain water and allow it to evaporate for an extra science day. Use a leaf if you can find one near you as a tracing.  Use the words of nature to teach the alphabet and basic sight words....
